Want A PS3? Get Robbed And Shot First. November 17, 2006

I know I’ve already posted a few Playstation 3, but this is an interesting story. Apparently, some people were too damn lazy to get up at 8PM and sit in line in front of a store.

HARTFORD, Connecticut (AP) — Two armed thugs tried to rob a line of people waiting for the new PlayStation 3 game system to go on sale early Friday and shot one man who refused to give up his money, authorities said.

It was about 3 a.m. when the two gunmen in Putnam, a town of about 9,000 residents in northeast Connecticut, confronted 15 to 20 people standing outside a Wal-Mart store and demanded money, said State Police Lt. J. Paul Vance.

Not only that, but there was also a robbery by five men to get a PS3 30 miles from the first incident. My favorite story is about a man who had to go through emergency surgery after getting stabbed while a friend and him tried to sell a PS3.

My thoughs: If you want a PS3 either 1) Buy Your Own, 2) Go on eBay or 3) Too bad.

This may sound a bit weird, but it is bound to happen. With the recent release of the Sony Playstation 3, there have been a multitude of news stories. Here are few of my favorite stories from today.

SmashMyPS3.com; Sledgehammer: 1, PS3: 0 November 17, 2006

Sony already had a slow start manufacturing their new video game console, the Playstation 3, and now that the crew at SmashMyPS3.com have taken a bit of their anger out on a poor, defense-less little PS3, there will be one less gamer happily playing Resistance.

Look for the video after the “jump.” If any of you know what all those other blogs mean by that, please tell me.

Update: After watching the video again, it would seem that the PS3 is capable of taking a bit of damage.  I’m sure it won’t play, but I remember when they took that sledgehammer to a XBox360 and it ended up in a score more pieces with less swings.

Condoms– at the speed of light

This short video shows the greatest advancement in human innovation. A condom. But not any old condom, no, just snap the package, pull it over you package” and pull off the wrapper. Easy. Simple. My kind of sex.

It turns out I can’t put AdSense on the blog. That’s okay because I didn’t really care that much.

Also, I’m adding the blog to Technorati, which means I have to put this link in this post…

Steve Irwin Dead; age 44 September 5, 2006

This is an end to an era. The legendary “crocodile hunter” Steve Irwin died yesterday from a puncture wound from a poisionous barbed tail of a stingray. I quite fitting way for him to go. He was always handleing dangerous animals, so why not get killed by one?

The cliffhanger on this story was the fact that at the time he was recording for a show for his daughter. Everyone was wondering if the video would be viewable. As it turns out; yes, it will be. Mr. Irwin’s wife informed the media that they would be releasing the video to the public because that is what Steve wanted.

My question is how many hits on YouTube it’s going to get.

It’s the end of an area. The world isn’t over, but it’s pretty darn close to it.

Stargate SG-1 has been cancelled.

That’s right. The show that started a new generation of science fiction television has been removed from funding. SciFi has stated that it wanted to move the old and gangly SG-1 for a “new” spin-off show.

Here’s my opinion: If they do come out with a new show and it is good, then I can live with it. Otherwise it will have died in vain and I won’t be able to stand by that!

The Coming of Adsense August 29, 2006

Most of you know that Google has this little ad system known as “AdSense.”  Basically it puts ads on a website specifically tailored to that particular site.  Well, I intend on doing tht based on the following reason(s).

1) I get money.

2) This is no other reason.

3) Please see number 2.

Now, you may seem a bit shocked that I would stoop to such a low level as to put ads on a blog, but don’t fret.  I am that low.

That is of course if I get approved by the good people at Google.

According to the Engadget blog, George W. Bush, the president of the “great” USA, recieved a DS Lite and a copy of the game Brain Age for his 60th birthday, from none other than Nintendo.

For those who don’t know, Brain Age is a game where you build on your mental talents. Bush, obviously needed this and if you don’t find this hilarious, you are a moron.

Wicked Crazy Flash “Piano” July 5, 2006

This new flash “game” is of a “piano.” How could a piano be a flash game, you say. That’s what the quotes are for. It’s a very interesting concept. Each small square is a different note or chord. They bounce around and makes sounds. They they collide with the walls, or each other, they produce their individual sounds. They have several pre-programmed “songs” in already, including Fur Elise. (Which is one of my personal favorite classical pieces.)

Update: I seemed to have forgotten to put the link to the game in the article.  Stupid me.  Go here.
